Video on Demand: YouTube Search as a Learning Layer

Text answers are great. A 4-minute video from a master teacher is better. Here's how we wire YouTube into every response.

Why video?

Reading is fast, but visualizing a binary tree rotate or a TCP handshake is much easier when someone draws it for you. We supplement every answer with a curated video.

Query construction

We don't pass the raw question — we extract the concept with a tiny prompt and append difficulty cues:

  • Beginner → "explained simply", "for beginners"
  • Expert → "deep dive", "internals"

Ranking

A weighted score: relevance * 0.5 + channel_score * 0.3 + duration_fit * 0.2. Duration fit prefers 4–10 minute videos for short concepts, 20+ for deep dives.

What's next

On-demand generation — for niche topics with no good video, we'll generate a short animated explainer with an AI video pipeline.
